The fantastic Duomo, or cathedral, is Italy's largest Gothic structure. Resplendent in Milano's main square, the marble edifice took five hundred years to complete. The golden Madonnina, which actually stands atop the tallest of the cathedral's 135 spires, appears here in the foreground of the snowglobe.
